Casey was born and raised in Plano, TX and came to UTD in 2016 looking for Christian community, where he quickly found FOCUS. His life began to change as he was shown what it meant to live as a follower of Jesus in daily life, and as his ideas about God were constantly offended and challenged. He developed lifelong friends and mentors through his time there, and learned so many practical ministry skills. He almost pursued vocational ministry right after graduating in 2020, but knew work experience was helpful for any ministry role. He worked at Texas Instruments in Research & Development for 5 years full-time, getting to do things he would have never imagined as God gave him the opportunities he would dream about.
The journey back to ministry was a slow burn at times, but Jesus turned up the heat in 2024 through many difficult circumstances. At his lowest moments, Casey was filled with the love of God as the Spirit of God worked in him to further reveal the Father and the Son. He came out of that year with a heart ready for ministry and more clarity than ever about his desire to share the Good News of who God really is with people.
Now, he is an apprentice with FOCUS, and is very excited. Like VERY. Everyday, he thinks about talking to people about Jesus and helping young men live in relationship with Him, while getting called “unc” a lot in the process. Casey also loves to pray, and you can stop him anytime to randomly pray about anything. He hopes to help the students have more spaces to encounter Jesus personally in prayer and worship. He also spent some time in Greece helping start a house church and loves to talk about it way too much, so next time you see him feel free to tell him,”we get it, you lived in Greece.”
Your support and love is very appreciated!
